It seems a biologist filmed a coconut crab climbing a tree and dislodging a dozing adult sea bird and then killing it with ease. Fortunately this predator can not swim well and any migration seems to be storm induced. |

Switzerland just made it illegal to boil a lobster while it is alive. |

How might you euthanize a lobster? Typical for lower classes is to freeze, but in this case it would ruin the reason for killing it. Tack hammer? Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it. |

(hint:It has 4 legs) this allows you cast a fishing line a thousand feet if you wish. You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really? |

Good thing these things don't get bigger and get a taste for humans. Or do they? Fighting against eight arms. Losing battle. In the 1930's when Hemingway lived in Key West, he would often take visitors out on his big cruiser, the Pilar. They would get into the Gulf Stream at just that time of day when the sun lit the water a hundred feet down. There was always a feeding frenzy going on in the hot water of the stream, every kind of creature eating other creatures. It was a such a macabe sight, many of Hemingway's passengers would get ill and puke over the side. He always got the biggest kick out of it when that happened. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Interesting you posted this. When you did, I had just the day prior been daydreaming about fishing traps, designing one in my head as I slung the mail. This one's pretty ingenious. But I have to ask - wtf would a fish go up the bamboo? It doesn't seem to be baited. I can understand why it would continue up, as one it enters it can't back up. But why stick its head in in the first place? /sigh. This thread makes me sad. I need to give it more attention this year. Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it. |
