Saw some trailers for new Marvel movies. I was wondering it they were making up new characters that didn't exist in the comics. But I guess I haven't kept up with comic heroes for many years. Just don't know these ones.

The Marvel era began in 1961, the year that the company launched The Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, and the X-Men.

The first comic based mega hit films were Superman (1978) and Batman (1989) from DC comics. Unfortunately MARVEL sold the rights to their three most famous characters mentioned above to other companies.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe was forced to use secondary characters (like Iron Man).

The last movie I saw was Ma in 2019. Very good movie about a Woman who was a teenager in about 1987 being tricked into doing a sexual act with someone she thought was her crush but was some random dude. Her crush and his Friends and the random guy set her up. She was understandably devastated and horrified. As an Adult, she seeked revenge against her Tormentors' Children who are now Teenagers themselves. She turns her house into a Party house where she lets them drink. They think she is cool at FIRST, but then realize she seems to be creepily obsessed with Teenagers who could be her Children. They plan to block Ma from their Phones and they do, but she got a new phone and claimed the reason she was acting creepy is because of Pancreatic Cancer. They feel sorry for her and become close to her again. Big mistake. She later traps them in her burning house and because one of them told her ACTUAL Mom that they hung out as Ma's were they saved when Mom and another concerned Parent/Cop got them out of that house....

Thanks for the detailed synopsis.

I’ve actually seen Ma, and come to think of it, Nathan reminds me of Ma.

But I don't hang out with Teenagers nor do I serve them alcohol and I certainly don't trap them in a burning house... I also have never killed People like Ma did to two of her Tormentors' as Adults.

Where Angie Dickinson actually did try to beat the crap out of Lee Marvin (according to her) Apparently she still had issues with him when he almost threw her out a window in another movie

Mel Gibson remade "Point Blank" in 1999 as "Payback".

This film was released in 1967 (the same year s the Dirty dozen) before the MPAA ratings were introduced. So the movie code where criminals could not be shown to profit from crimes was still in effect.

The 163-minute runtime confirms the rumor that “No Time To Die” is the longest Bond film in the franchise’s history. The 2015 “Spectre” was 148 minutes, with “Skyfall” and “Casino Royale” both over 140 minutes.

Bond films are usually among the years’ top worldwide grossers, although domestic usually accounts for about a quarter of those totals — much lower than what Marvel and other blockbusters. That said, United Artists will do everything it can to maximize domestic results.

Just saw Jason Statham's "Wrath of Man."

One of his better movies; good, not great.
