Hawaii has a GSP of less than $70 billion per year. For a trillion dollars I suspect that they would want at least the entire state. |

Dunno about that. They would be looking at Hawaii as a retirement place for wealthy Japanese. An entire island with nothing but them is a dream come true. A trillion is a tad high, however. Maybe 100 billion. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

I would think that acquisition of a company should be roughly 15 times it's earnings. The empty island of Lanai (population 3100) was sold for half a billion dollars ($5,560 per acre). |
