I’m not for NO government regulations or actions. I have no problem with there being laws that prohibit discrimination based on race or gender. It is also likely that there is no forum member that has been involved in hiring more women, more minorities, and certainly more (legal) foreigners than I have.

As far as terapined’s point about Republican state’s raising the minimum wage, I guess it was IN RESPONSE to 4 horrible years of BIDENFLATION. And also to remind you, because Republicans do something DOES NOT mean I am necessarily in favor of it. Totally against Trump’s ‘no taxing tips’. As well as his ‘no taxing overtime’. And, believe it or not, I’m generally against tariffs as well.

How can it be nonsense if it's true?

One of the arguments for a min wage, and indeed one of the justifications for it in the first place was to prevent a race to the bottom on wages. Being able to pay certain classes of people less than others for the same work is part of that race to the bottom. Chattel slavery is arguably the bottom of the race to the bottom. It's a logical conclusion.

I'm okay with there being a floor for wages. Why aren't you? Where is your floor?

How about this, Ed. I’ll give you the final word. In general, do you think if Democrats controlled everything minimum wage would be higher than if Republicans control everything? I think so. So, although not perfect, I prefer Republicans on this issue.

And as I said, I think there are (likely) examples of tariffs I would be in favor of. Especially to counter specific economic attacks by foreign governments.
