What about Harris is "too progressive?".

My main criticism of her is the same as Biden, historically her record is so centrist she could easily be a centrist Republican like Biden, and nobody would question it.

Literally in Senate, Biden and Harris could have identified as R of D and nobody would question it, and blind guesses based on voting record, most people would never get it right beyond the 50/50 guess chance...

Seems to me that the old party members want to keep it moderate but the young 'uns want it to be progressive, and the issue is still somewhat undecided.

I viewed Harris as more progressive than moderate but whatever, I'd like to see what there current platform says: not that I'd ever vote their ticket.

I am not anti-war, necessarily: sometimes it is necessary.

Trump erred in not getting the UN / our erstwhile allies to join in, as Bush did with Saddam.

Iran is a royal PITA and I understand the desire to smite them, but it needs to be a collective effort.

The sad state of the Republican Party……. Another Senator who was not 100% in lock step with Trump bites the dust. Cornyn out. Paxton in (maybe!). Cornyn was a lock for reelection had he won the primary. Paxton seems 50/50 to beat the Dem.

There are now 4 sitting Republican Senators who might oppose any Trump initiative without future political fear because they now have no political future anyway. 53-4 =49. 49 Senators isn’t enough to get anything passed.

As our libbie friends here like to say, get out the popcorn!

On a different note, no tears for me when a candidate who would be 80 at the end of his term doesn’t win reelection. Retire. Play golf and pickleball. Travel. Watch the grandkids’ soccer games.

These old geezers are what we want,though. We had the chance to primary in younger candidates in 2016,2020 and 2024 but didn't.
