I think you nailed his biggest weakness. If he was consistent in pretty much anything responses would he easier. Not knowing what may come next is generally not good for anyone.

Of course gas prices are up because of the response to our attack on Iran. A real leader could have said this..

“I made the difficult decision to attack Iran. The need to stop the innocent protester killings, prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power, and need to degrade their offensive capabilities in the region, made this a necessary appropriate action. There will be some difficult times ahead. Gas prices will rise. Iran may activate sleeper cells on American soil. Some brave American soldiers will give their lives in this endeavor. I hope to have this attack lead to a safer Middle East, and a safer world.”

That’s just not Trump. But it doesn’t mean that the attack won’t end up doing more good than harm. (The school deaths are a high bar to overcome…)
