If it’s a gift he accepted personally, and now owns, then it can likely be considered a bribe. If it is a gift from the Qatari government to the United States government, then it’s a good deal to get a half billion dollar plane for our government. Terapined wants us to return the bribe that we call The Statue of Liberty. Frankly, this is a big nothing. Friendship with Qatar is better than enmity. Happened around the same time last US hostage released by Hamas. Is there anyone here delusional enough to think he is released if we had President Harris? |

Earth to Soopoo... It most certainly is NOT "a good deal" and it certainly does violate the emoluments clause. The Foreign Emoluments Clause in Article I, Section 9, Clause 8 of the US Constitution, prohibits federal officials from accepting gifts, emoluments, offices, or titles from foreign governments without the consent of Congress. Trump has approved the deal, Congress has not, and many republicans are crying "foul." Also it is not "a good deal" because it is a gilded, flying palace: a lot of modifications, retrofitting and new additions would be needed to make it viable as an Air Force One, all at a huge cost. This would take years and by then the oaf will either be dead or out on the street. Isnt't there a new one being built currently by Boeing? Who gets that, Elon Musk? Oh, Trump says that he plans to keep and use "The Flying Bribe" after his term expires, saying it will be donated not to the USA but to the Trump Library. Hello, rampant corruption! |

In 2028, will President Ocasio Cortez be able to use the plane? Of course the optics are bad, especially if you already are suffering from TDS. Trump is fun, that’s for sure. |

From how I heard it the plane will be used as AF1 during the Trump admin, when he leaves office in 2032 the plane goes to his POTUS library. It is thus a gift to the USA. Qatar has been a rising star as a USA ally the past 20 years. They clearly want to keep us close. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength |
