RFK Jr really barbecued the Dems in his announcement

Quote:
... in 1960 ... the Democrats were the champions of the Constitution and of civil rights [he goes on]... I left that party in October... It had become the party of war, censorship, corruption, big pharma, big tech, big AG, and big money... it abandoned democracy by canceling the primary... democracy... has become little more than a slogan for our political institutions, for our media, and for our government, and most sadly at all, for me, for the Democratic Party... Lacking confidence that its candidate could win a fair election at the voting booth, the DNC waged continual legal warfare ...Each time that our volunteers turned in those towering boxes of the signatures needed to get on the ballot the DNC dragged us into court, state after state, attempting to erase their work, and to subvert the will of the voters who had signed those petitions. It deployed DNC-aligned judges to throw me and other candidates off the ballot... the same shadowy DNC operatives appointed [Biden's] successor ... without an election. They installed a candidate who was so unpopular with voters that she dropped out in 2020 without winning a single delegate... My uncle and my father both relished debate. They would be astonished to learn of a Democratic Party presidential nominee who, like Vice President Harris, has not appeared in a single interview or an unscripted encounter with voters for 35 days. This is profoundly undemocratic... the DNC and its media organs engineered a surge of popularity for Vice President Harris based on nothing. No policies, no interviews, no debates, only smoke and mirrors… [The Dems] resort to censorship, media control, and weaponization of the federal agencies. [behold] a U.S. president colludes with, or outright coerces, media companies to censor political speech… Putin and his party controlled the Russian press and …Putin prevented serious opponents from appearing on the ballot. But here in America, the DNC also prevented opponents from appearing on the ballot. And our television networks expose themselves as Democratic Party organs….

Really thought this thread was going to be about him barbecuing another dog.

At least now we don’t have to hear Tanko pretend he’s a Dem anymore…

Very good post and one of the best I've read here.

In my lifetime, the political spectrum shifted leftward.

Meaning, the old left is now far-left, the old center is now left, and the old right is now center.

The old far-right had been "canceled" and there's thinking of labeling the current right as being "canceled".

Nowadays, the far-left is controlled by persons not elected.

Trump & RFK Jr. are left of the old center.

Both believe in spending.

RFK Jr. is more left than Trump, but both are currently considered a part of the right, and they're historically left.

The danger of "leftyness" is the redistribution of assets, such as folks that don't want to work being entitled to an equal piece of the pie.

There's a difference in not wanting to work and not being able to work.

If we don't wake up, there won't be much left to divide.

Is RFK not aware that information on healthy eating has been blasting across the nation from all sources for quite a few years. I think it'd be great if food giants got away from processed foods, pesticides, mass production, and went to organic food.

That's what Trump is signing him up for? I guess he is giving up on free enterprise and if food producers can choose what to produce now. I have to actually read it more thoroughly to see what is being promised.

Jr does know that the wars of the 21st century were started and propagated by the GOP? That it’s the GOP that is censoring what teachers say in schools and what books libraries keep on their shelves and what press and media outlets say? That the “big fil-in-the-blank” are all headed by GOP donors? That the only person to blame for his floundering campaign was himself? The Democrats didn’t force him to be a crackpot, or say stupid stuff, or do weird things with dead bears or lie about his residency. That how the DNC and the Democratic party chooses their candidate is an internal matter for them and them alone, and he chose many months ago to leave the party? He does know that he has now endorsed a candidate that refused to participate in his own party’s primary debates, tat saddles up to dictators like Putin who Jr supposedly hates, and that staged an insurrection to illegally stay in power?

I mean, he knows all that, right?

I think what you can accurately say about the GOP is that it is just as devoted to keeping it to a two party system as the Dems

Apart from various alternate claims, I for one am open-minded enough to see he is correct about the Dem party of today with what he said

How about just get rid of the party system and just have each candidate express their opinions on each issue and have the voters vote on that?
At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a deterrent.

One man's open mindedness is another man's delusions. And Jr. is selling delusions.
