Carmax put my 2016 Chevy Impala up for sale at $21k. If they can get that more power to them. I was happy with the $16k they gave me.

I was very happy to get $16k but they do have it for sale at $21k. I would guess they will have to lower it before it sells. I would guess they will get between $18k and $19k.

What kind of condition was it in? Did they get a cherry or a raisin?

edit, oh I see. Looks cherry to me, and low mileage.

of course, things sitting can have rotted seals and other issues...

16000 mi, practically new.

The condition was probably 9.5 out of 10. I got the car two years ago from my mother because she couldn't drive anymore. In those two years we put 2000 miles on it. Insurance alone was about $100 a month and I realized we paid about $2400 in insurance for a car we put 2000 miles on. That seemed foolish so we sold it.

Carmax just lowered the price to $20k. I am guessing that won't be the last reduction.

I'd buy it based on my casual knowledge of the previous owner.

If I actually needed that sort of car for some reason. Which I don't.

I am surprised the 2016 Impala sold for $20k at Carmax. I guess they know more than I do.

Some people just buy from these places knowing they are overpaying, but financing is a lot easier I gather.

I know a lot of people that buy cars at Carmax. I always assumed it was the "no haggle" that people jumped on. I am just the opposite, I would never buy a car at a no haggle place. The haggling is half the reason I buy new cars.
