Gotta wonder if once again our leader will attempt to justify attacking an Arab nation falsely claiming it was an existential threat due to having / almost having weapons of mass destruction.

Gee, Saddam Hussein comes to mind, with the oh so embarrassing, wholly unsupported claimed justification for attacking being such a claim.

Who are we to tell them what they can or cannot do?

That matter aside, the issue is do they have or will they very soon have weapons grade material, and THAT is where the dispute lies in the administration.

Israel wants us to do their dirty work for them: why haven't they built a bunker buster of their own, as well as a plane to deliver it?

I thought Jews were good at that sort of thing.

He just hopes the problem will go away or be superceded in those two weeks.

Wasn't it two weeks for his infrastructure plan? Or was that his healthcare plan?

He may have decided but there can be some time involved in moving forces and equipment about. At least that’s what his generals should be telling him. They could also be hesitating while watching what Russia and China are doing. It’s hard not to tip the hand when any major move will be made by other countries. Hard to hide any unusual force movement.

That is at least the legitimate reason for waiting. OTOH, Trump might launch tomorrow on his own fully ready or not.

I accept it, but the thought occurred to me that the threat level didn't really spike particularly, that there was really no new intelligence about an imminent attack.* Instead, Iran for different reasons was very weakened, making a perfect opportunity for this. Weakening included Hamas's downfall, and the Hottentots Houthis getting clobbered for their impertinence. What happened to weaken Hezbollah dunno

Honestly, I think Israel is doing our dirty work. We have had active war plans for Iran for decades.

We have had war plans for many nations for many yesrs.

Technically, it all could be on Netanyahu. No one has claimed we were in on the original go ahead.

I just heard Xi and Putin are conversing on the state of the Iran/Israel war. Doesn't' sound too likely China is going have a go at taking any land back at the moment.

Both of them have reasons to throw monkey wrenches in all our business.
