Correct. Our criminal justice system sets a high bar to ascertain that someone is a criminal. In no way does not convicting Trump mean he did not do the things he was accused of. It just means that by our society’s rules he is not a criminal. If you are accused of a crime, found not guilty of such, do you want the accused still branded as a criminal? Are you saying being charged, in and of itself, makes you a criminal?

I only call those convicted of crimes criminals.

While driving through rural Texas I heard a radio ad by a small town lawyer. The ad ended with the tag line, “Remember, just because you did it, doesn’t mean you’re guilty.”

What if you outright stole 25 million from a vault? What should happen?

I question paying court and out of court settlements as not any better than unprocessed crimes. Whereas if you outright stole money from someone you get an afternoon in jail and out of bail at the minimum. AND SOON LIKLEY HAVE A CRIMINAL RECORD.

edited, of course not all damage awards are for intentional fraud, theft. So, I'm specifically addressing specific kinds of settlements.

This is answer to you and the two posts that followed yours.

You do realize that the person who had $25 million stolen from them is NOT the person that decides to prosecute an alleged criminal? That is up to a prosecutor. In the example you used the prosecutor must have determined that there was not enough evidence to convict Trump of a crime. Trust me, if they thought they did, they would LOVE to be the prosecutor who nailed Trump.

One of the other posters laid out evidence that he thinks is proof Trump is a criminal. Let’s get a competent prosecutor bring it to a court of law and see what happens? You may think Trump is a criminal. Who cares what you (or I) think? Let’s see what a jury of his peers thinks! It’s been over TWENTY months since the events of January 6! No charges yet!!!! Why is that? What case is more important to the hoards of Democrat prosecutors than Trump?

If a contractor who had several judgements of fraud against his company offered you a good deal on major house upgrades you would treat him like he was innocent if he had no criminal record.

Expected answer here: __

Neither would I.

We had a POTUS tried to drain this swamp but you whined about his mean tweets.

Well considering he became the most egregious violator of all, after essentially basing his campaign on Clinton doing this to a far lesser extent, it just does not ring true.

Your comment is not relevant to the discussion. There are lots of ‘non criminals’ that I wouldn’t hire. Trump is one of them. There are lots of bad people who are not criminals. Trump is one of them. He may in the future be moved over into the criminal group. I doubt it. But it wouldn’t stun me.

The only thing he "violated" was standing up to the establishment you seem to love but screws the common American over day after day. Now it wants to spend billions to help a few hundred illegal aliens because they showed up in liberal areas.

As far as I'm concerned, if it looks like poop, smells like poop, it is poop. Like I said, I have a problem with the law here. Notice bolded part. The majority of people don't even have the ability to settle.

Quote:
The plaintiffs' attorneys agreed to forgo their fees and work pro bono as to maximize the amount that would go to the approximately 7,000 former Trump University students involved in the case.[77] The settlement also specified that Trump, who had previously vowed he would never settle, did not admit to any wrongdoing.[78] The settlement was brokered by U.S. district judge Jeffrey T. Miller, who offered his services to the parties on November 10 at Curiel's request.[79] Curiel approved the settlement

He's just as much a criminal as a guy who stole a $1000 from someone and got convicted.

Was watching a montage of Captain poopy pants telling a mostly black crowd that he was raised in a black neighborhood. Then when he was addressing a mostly Latino crowd he said he was raised in a Hispanic neighborhood. Then when he was talking to an audience full of Jews he said that he was raised in a Jewish neighborhood and went to Temple every Saturday probably more than his audience did. People who know Biden well say he lies about everything,, absolutely everything. Always has. He's lied so much for so many years that he doesn't even remember what the truth is anymore. He's like a chameleon he changes himself for whoever he's talking to. Plagiarized his way through college, graduated at the bottom of his class, lies about everything, and got rich by selling out the United States for money through his son Hunter. And people think he might run again in 2024? He will not even going to be president by 2024, he's going to be gone long before then.

Tulsi Gabbard dumps the Dem party by telling the truth about them and what they have become. She's beautiful and she's a brainiac and those kind of women scare the crap out of me. People who know her say she has almost a photographic memory and the ability to stack things in her mind and convey them almost on the spot. Sounds like presidential material to me I would vote for her in a nanosecond. She's a polar opposite of the brain-dead hair sniffing geezer we have in there now.

She's apparently willing to endorse anyone who is non-interventionist. Hard to tell what else she thinks takes priority. Back in 2016.

Quote:
Rep. Tulsi Gabbard is endorsing Bernie Sanders’ presidential bid, departing her post as the Democratic National Committee’s vice chair to support the Vermont senator.

“There is a clear contrast between our two candidates with regard to my strong belief that we must end the interventionist, regime change policies that have cost us so much. This is not just another issue. This is the issue, and it’s deeply personal to me,” Gabbard said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” – a comment distributed by Sanders’ campaign.
