I think most indies are think your way. They think the world is ending. Fact is abortion has pretty much never been the deciding issue on a candidate. Years ago we had one in PA running saying abortion! Abortion! Abortion! She lost big.

It’s the economy, stupid!

What comes with the "abortion" issue is all of the other religious right agenda. Separation of church and state, LBGQT issues, birth control pill bans, probably more freedom for religion and less for the rest.
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

Do you think those federal deficits are going to decide the election this fall, or are we immune.

Only time deficit really mattered was to Perot voters, so I do not think most voters even know the difference between "debt" and "deficit."

I have resigned myself to eventual dollar collapse or inflating the debt away as they did in the 1970s. The GOP cannot make even a modest proposal to cut it without the media carrying water for Democrat ads of old women in wheelchairs being pushed off cliffs so the GOP no longer bothers.

What would happen if America defaulted on all Foreign debt? I realize others would be very unlikely to lend us more money, but do we need that?

Well, among other things this would effortlessly catapult China into being World Leader and consign the USA to the same economic status as Greece, at least for awhile.

Whether and how we could recover from such an existential event is unclear.

It would be the end of the USA. We currently survive based on control of the world financial system. You can have two USA enemies who trade in dollars. If we have to trade real value for real value it is the end. World trade would probably go back to barter.

Explain how it would be the end f the USA. Other countries exist and they don't control the financial systems.

BTW, the US dollar will fail eventually. All fiat currencies eventually fail.
