THE BAKED BEAN MUSEUM OF EXECELLENCE I have stopped at a lot of strange museums but I am jealous that I will not get a chance to go to this one. I have been lucky enough to visit the world's largest baked potato in Blackfoot Idaho and the worlds largest pistachio in Alamogordo New Mexico but neither of those hold a can of beans to The Baked Beans Museum of Excellence. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a detrrent. |

Have you been to those two? If so, was it interesting? At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a detrrent. |

No. I like going up the Columbia Gorge to Maryhill. Originally the home of Sam Hill, he formed a Quaker farming community dedicated to the arts and free love there about a hundred years ago. Ultimately his plan failed, so he decided to have a museum. Much of the interesting, eclectic stuff came from his friends, including royalty: I love the gold (gilded) throne and furniture. The permanent collection includes: Auguste Rodin Indigenous Peoples of North America George E. Muehleck, Jr. Gallery of International Chess Sets Art Nouveau Glass Loïe Fuller Queen Marie of Romania Orthodox Icons Théâtre de la Mode William and Catherine Dickson Sculpture Park see: https://www.maryhillmuseum.org/inside/mission-and-history |
