Any reason you have to go to Vegas instead of some other place. Atlantic City, Mississippi coastline casinos. Branson Missouri has some sort of countryfied entertainment venues all in one place.

"With over 100 live shows, Branson, MO has rightly earned its nickname as Live Music Capital of the World and travelers are finding cost-effective show and vacation packages with convenient, easy-to-use ticket-buying services."

They actually have quite a few flights from there and I think they are the only commercial airline that serves that airport.

Sun Country Airlines has a Seasonal flight from Minneapolis/St. Paul to PGD. But it was a private airport before Allegiant started flying there.

Allegiant Airlines didn't use to fly more than about 1400 miles
But they started flying from Las Vegas to Orlando which is only 11 miles shorter than Las Vegas to Punta Gorda.
LAS to SFB Orlando Sanford Intl, FL 2034 miles
LAS to PGD Punta Gorda, FL 2045 miles

So you should check Allegiant schedule periodically.

PGD is surrounded by golf courses, which is understandable since it used to be private planes only.

Allegiant has a knack for flying into very obscure airports. They fly from 74 airports into SFB as an alternative to MCO for the Orlando region (24 air miles apart). Out of those 74 destinations, 11 are season only. But SFB has only two other airlines with limited commercial service to Canada.

Bottom line is if you airport had a flight into MCO and into SFB you would almost always choose MCO even if it was more expensive since it is so much more convenient. But I suspect that none of the 74 airports that Allegian flies from have service to MCO, so it is easier simply to fly to SFB and rent a car and drive to Disney World.

I love Allegiant just because it goes to smaller cities and smaller airports. I have flown Allegiant many times from Punta Gorda. I was actually in Punta Gorda today.

To a previous poster that asked why Las Vegas: For me it is not about gambling anymore. I spent 30 years in Las Vegas and now I just like to go back a few times a year to visit friends and family. I have recently been flying Frontier from RSW to CLE and then to LAS. I am excited about a direct flight.

I currently have two flights booked on Allegiant coming up. I will be travelling to Great Falls, MT and Cedar Rapids, IA on Allegiant.

Avelo airlines is now flying out of RSW to New Haven CT. Hopefully I will get a chance to take this flight this year. I have never flown Avelo and I have never flown into New Haven. Two birds one stone.

Strange route map. I don't think I've ever seen an airline before without any flights connecting the hubs.
