What the US and the Wests current response is doing nothing but allowing large parts of the Ukraine to be destroyed and 1000's killed and millions of Ukrainian citizens displaced. Better to do nothing and get it over with then do half measures that will never stop Russia and causes unbelievable hardship for millions.

Of course you still have the pollyanna view that China will not take over Taiwan.

I don't think the Ukrainians would prefer your alternative even if they all are going to eventually die.

My most cynical view is they are taking a big bite out of Russia's military equipment, if nothing else. And we're getting a first hand look at combatting the Russians with much of our equipment which is always valuable intel.

They've done surprisingly well thus far, kicking the Russian bear in the balls and painting a big "L" on his back. Russia is now a military laughingstock, but they still have the ability to crush Ukraine. Stay tune for chapter two of "David and Goliath."
