Because that generally means you have not read or thought anything on the subject. It just means you are repeating what someone else thought.

Do you even know how science or medicine works, Duffy?

I can answer that for you: No, he doesn’t.

Sure do. It’s why I trust doctors who see patients instead of just make policy.

He’s black, doubt Duffy would trust him.

Really? When? All I hear most people here say is they let the scientists think for them

I can’t take it anymore. That comment you repeat ad nauseum is just plain STUPID.
When you get on a plane do you ‘think for yourself’ or trust the aerospace engineers who designed the wings, engines, etc?
When you drink water out of a tap do you ‘think for yourself’ or trust your local water authority to keep it safe?
When you were sick recently did you ‘think for yourself’ or just trust your doctors to KNOW MORE THAN YOU and prescribe an appropriate antibiotic?

I’m sure by any objective standard I’m smarter than you. But built into that wisdom is the knowledge that there are some subjects that there are MANY that are gobs smarter than I am. It’s not a weakness when I take the advice of an engineer/lawyer/CPA/gambling math expert. Taking their advice is NOT ‘not thinking for myself’.

If you see the plane has a flat tire, do you just get on because the pilot tells you there is nothing to worry about?

If your water comes out of the tap smelly do you just drink it because the local water authority tells you that it is OK because your city of Flint has taken care of it?

Are you claiming no doctor has ever committed malpractice?

We are not talking about "taking advice." We are talking about being told to shut up and listen. Told to get in the line and do as we are told. People saying you cannot question something because "the scientist said it." The people who do this are the ones who say how beautiful the clothes the king is wearing are even when they cannot describe them because they were told that the clothes are invisible to fools.

Take that to the vax thing.

"The vax is out! We are finally safe! We all need to get it as it works so great."
"I don't want to get it."
"But if YOU don't get it *I* might catch the virus! You have to get it."
"But if it works so well what are you worried about?"
"The king's robe there, it made of 1,000 colors!"
"I don't see a robe at all."
"That is because you are a dimwit Trumper..........."

I don’t think would be possible for Duffy to come up with a stupider example than this. Dude just repeatedly steps on that rake and smacks himself in the face.
