In general, it is a very high bar for me to want American troops to be fighting a foreign enemy when actual US soul is not being threatened. Not saying impossibly high, but very high. Why isn’t the Ykraine a NATO member before this crisis?

Multiple reasons. It was never stable enough and to let them be members would have stretched NATO logistics Pro-Russia Belarus makes too big of a bulge in the lines.

Now we know. Putin isn't stopping till he grabs the entirety of Ukraine.

He is funding his war and military buildup, with oil and gas sales to the West.

Some protesters in Russia getting detained. Actors have been warned not to criticize the Mother Land.

China flying over Taiwan. They do that a lot…but just a little more provocative today.

NATO can put a big thorn in Putin’s plan if they continually weaponize a resistance inside Ukraine if it comes to that.

It will be pretty grim for Ukrainians if they do that, however.

The every day people they interview on the streets in Ukraine seemed to think this would not happen. I think most of us were convinced that it would happen for a while now. Did they not hear what we heard or have they heard the same long enough just to ignore it?
