I think you meant to write "gulf stream."

I knew it sounded funny even as I was writing it.

traveling for pleasure.

An oxymoron if there ever was one. I absolutely hate being away from home for any reason, even if it's going to the grocery store. Walmart delivering groceries to my door is such a delight that I can't even describe it. Why would I want to leave my house when everything I could possibly want is here. You think I'm joking or I'm overstating it. Believe me, I'm not. My attitude comes from decades of if I want a book, I have to go buy it at a bookstore. If I want my prescriptions, if I want liquor, if I want to see a movie, if I want to gamble, I had to leave my house to do any of it. Not anymore...

He was also a paranoid hypochondriac, among other things. I'm not.

I flew into Las Vegas Mccaraan airport on Tuesday around noon. The airport was busier than I have ever seen it. It was mobbed. I fly about 20 times per year and this day was ridiculous. It was busier than any day before Thanksgiving that I have seen.

Air travel is back.

Was it busier than ever, or were there just less people working and less shops/restaurants open? Making it seem busier due to long ass lines everywhere...

I flew into LAS on Thursday and flew home yesterday. It was busy, but not painfully so.

As always, TSA Pre-Check is well worth the $85 investment.

May travel figures are not posted yet, but April 2021 passenger numbers are still down fairly significantly from April 2019 (28% for five main airlines in Terminal #1. I can imagine more recovery in May, but I have a difficult time buying record breaking numbers.

Apr, 2019 Terminal #1 Apr, 2021 Change
198,359 Allegiant 157,461 -21%
371,772 American 301,220 -19%
367,512 Delta 233,874 -36%
1,532,113 Southwest 1,033,531 -33%
401,241 Spirit 338,756 -16%

I really don't know. I was flying in so I wasn't near the checkin area but the actual terminal was crazy busy. I ha never seen the terminal area of McCarran mobbed like that. I flew into the "A" gates which is usually the least crowded area of the airport.

I am not claiming that is was a record, I just have never seen it that busy. It reminded me of going through O'Hare on Christmas Eve and it was a Tuesday at Noon.
