Hoping for permanent layoff, should get a few months pay due to over 20 years at same company, then unemployment insurance and when that runs out , should take me right into retirement No rebooking, just cancellations. Employees not sure when they will be allowed to travel If a company is banning non essential travel in March, airlines waiving change fees if booked in March is meaningless Sometimes we live no particular way but our own - Grateful Dead "Eyes of the World" |

This virus has been noteworthy (so far) by having very mild effects on young children. "The Tallahassee, Florida, couple told CNN on Wednesday night that they're aboard the ship but not confined to their rooms. Pace said the cruise ship had canceled its theater shows, and he was watching his wife play games in the casino." https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/05/health/california-coronavirus-cruise-ship-thursday/index.html So they are keeping a large gathering of people from happening in the theater but willing to keep winning money from customers gathered in the casino. Interesting. The casino on last cruise ship I was on, Royal Caribbean's Mariner of the Seas, was intensely crowded every evening. It was a challenge to get on tables and most machines were full. Not exactly a good place for limiting the spread of a disease... |
