Paper straws

| SOOPOO Member since: Feb 19, 2014 Threads: 25 Posts: 5748 | My supermarket (Wegmans) now gives you a paper straw with your Starbucks like products. I get a double shot of espresso over ice with a half teaspoon of half and half 4-5 times a week. I HATE the plastic straws they give you so much I now get my drink in what I can only describe as a sippy-cup. The straws begin to disintegrate almost instantaneously. And the texture against my tongue is unpleasant. Who the f... thought this is an acceptable alternative to a plastic straw? |

I have two brothers and they said they remember nothing like that, so it seems it was a thing some ass started in my own narrow age group, and extremely narrow numerically as well, just a few other kids - I have to think. In any case I internalized this and to this day eschew the straw except for rare occasion. I therefore cannot relate to what the fuss is all about today.
