Anyone see the coverage of al-Baghdadi's death?

The Washington Post had an interesting headline calling him an "Austire Relgious Scholar and the Helm of the Islamic State".... Strange phrasing.

For those that don't know, after being contained by U.S. forces he killed himself and his children with a suicide vest in lieu of surrendering....

But, it shows the power religous influence has over some publications... Probably one of the worst people ever, who killed himself in one of the worse ways ever, but still praise.

The story behind the Post's headline, was originally they called him an extremist, but had backlash, so changed it to religious scholar, got backlash, changed it back (you can google the current form of the article).

Do you say that just because of taking his kids with him, or because his head blew off, or other reason?

Because he used his kids as a hostage scenerio, and then killed them anyway to avoid capture.

LOL. This piece wouldn't be funny if it weren't so accurate.

Quote:
The death of the Islamic State’s leader in a daring nighttime raid vindicated the value of three traditional American strengths: robust alliances, faith in intelligence agencies and the projection of military power around the world.

But President Trump has regularly derided the first two. And even as he claimed a significant national security victory on Sunday, the outcome of the raid did little to quell doubts about the wisdom of his push to reduce the United States military presence in Syria at a time when terrorist threats continue to develop in the region.

Mr. Trump has long viewed the United States intelligence agencies with suspicion and appears to see its employees as members of the “deep state.” He also has a distinctly skeptical view of alliances — in this case, close cooperation with the Kurds, whom he has effectively abandoned.

“The irony of the successful operation against al-Baghdadi is that it could not have happened without U.S. forces on the ground that have been pulled out, help from Syrian Kurds who have been betrayed, and support of a U.S. intelligence community that has so often been disparaged,” Richard N. Haass, the president of the Council on Foreign Relations, said on Sunday.

What is wrong with it? Seems like Trump has the right ideas.

Easy to see which one was taking things more serious.

Yup, Obama.

(PS - the photo of Donny was a staged “smile for the camera” photo taken after the raid was mostly over).

I am shocked so many people have never heard of him. He has been the head of ISIS since 2013/2014 and has been a high level terrorist since the early 2000s, been a high value target for many years. Lots of money on his head from many countries.

Very terrible person. Probably worse than Bin Laden (in my view) for his massacres and slavery he has caused....

But he is also a religious scholar.
