I believe that there are many gays that specifically do not want all the alphabet letters associated with them. It is my understanding that all the letters were joined together with the common theme that they were not being accepted by the mainstream populace. That they wanted basic rights and non=discrimination regardless of which letter they fell under.

Maybe, but straight people in general
take it to mean we should think about
them as being all basically the same.
I look at Gays and Transvestites as
the same. It's partly because in the
bar, every Halloween all the Gay
guys I knew from the bar next door
came in dressed as women. They
did the whole 9 yards, makeup and
wigs and short dresses and stockings.
They loved it.

The whole purpose of an acronym
is to shorten a name, such as AFCIO*,
or group similar things together
as in LBGTQ.

Well, someone who thought he was being clever by telling someone in a heated debate, something like,"You are a Loser Man who has never and will never have contact with a real vagina," got schooled when the Poster wrote back,"Well, I've always been Gay and I was born by C-Section, so it's you who comes across as a Loser Man." The insulter didn't respond IIRC. LOL. :D

I still don't understand what the Q adds to LGBTQ. Let's have a look at Dictionary.com, in particular the slang definitions:

Quote: Queer

10. Slang.
A. Disparaging and Offensive. a term used to refer to a a person who is gay or lesbian.
B. a person whose sexual orientation or gender identity falls outside the heterosexual mainstream or the gender binary.

We already have covered gay and lesbian with the G and L. Don't we cover the people in the middle of the sexual orientation spectrum with the B? As for those with a gender identification changes, doesn't the T cover them?

I know I posted on this before, but I never got a straight *ahem* answer.

I know it since I'm in the business
but
I rarely book it with 2 much larger airports nearby, LAX and SNA
