Traffic jam on Mt Everest. Over 300 climbers.

Indian climber Anjali Kulkarni, 55, died on her way back from climbing to the summit, and American mountaineer Donald Lynn Cash, 55, died after fainting from high altitude sickness while descending

It is worse than Disney World. Who wants to deal with this?

I have heard there are calls to shut down permits for a few years for all the trash left behind and other damage.

Trash is expensive stuff like
tents and air tanks and a
crapload of things nobody
wants to carry down. The
pics look like our southern
border.

I have seen some articles lately on "overtourism." Not just Everest, but all kinds of places. Too many people causing too much wear and tear. Too many crowds. Kind of why I am in no rush to visit Vegas again, everything everywhere is getting to be like visiting Disney.

There are people down here trying to put a stop to camping on BLM land. They want to force all the RV's into parks.

My god, can't even camp out in the desert without paying someone.

Lot's of trash on this side of the border though. I found a pile of 4 backpacks a while back, stuffed under a creosote bush.
The last official act of any government is to loot the treasury. GW

I can't tell you how much pictures like that disgust me

I get the idea when it comes to liking to go to a place in town, an event, a gala, at a tavern, wherever, where there are lots of people, the more the merrier - even though personally that's not what floats my boat. Still, though, I get it.

In the great outdoors though? I just don't get it.

Yesterday went to a place with my dog to hike that I knew we would have to ourselves. And we did, and it was great.

Used to like taking the dog out on a snowy day when I figured I would have it to ourselves because nobody else would be crazy enough to go out in such weather. Sometimes it worked, sometimes I didn't count on there being a few other people in town with the same idea. One thing, thought, you met better people on that kind of day.

You just caused me about 12
hours of anxiety. Congrats,
you are now on my XXXXXX
list. I wish I could type what
I'm really feeling. I know Kate
Cloud, I follow her, I've talked
to her. It's like you reported a
member of my family missing.

First Woman successfully free climbs El Capitan in 1 day.
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?
