Looking again at the points system, I guess if each game had a betting pool and each player always contributed 1 dollar, then the total points won would be directly proportional to the dollars won, so I have to concede that his points per game played stat is valid. It just feels squiffy. |

I'm rooting for ODG, because I just hate to see a guy take a whupping from variance and his score does not reflect on any skill disparity. Let's, hopefully, revert to the mean a little. |

TC beat six* players when he won and RxW beat five*. That gives TC one extra point. So, I stand by the points per game as shown. I admit it gives the wrong impression that TC is twice as good as RxW when they really have almost the same performance. However, it is what it is. I'm open to other methods of ranking everybody. Maybe a simple idea would be you don't get listed in the first table until you complete ten games. Thoughts? *Corrected Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |

Thanks Mike, By making the analogy that each game had a $1 wager from each playe, I can see how your representation of points does actually make sense, even if it does mean miplet's lead is unassailable. But note how TC seems to have beaten 6 other players and RXW beat 5. Was that a pair of typos ( I know it would make no ultimate difference, or did game three really somehow have 7 players? |

He keeps saying it has been due mostly to luck. After the first round of 11 games, before the long break, I had 8 total points to Miplet's 7. Both of us played in 10 total games. My record sure went south after the break. I'll admit to some losses being partially due to my own errors but I'd like to think I had less than my share of wins with the coin. Who knows, maybe a losing streak will hit Miplet.
You're right. The table was right but my comment was wrong. Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |
