I have never celebrated that on Xmas
or any other day. Xmas was the Yuletide
holiday before the Church approriated it
and took all of it's practices. Like
caroling, and mistletoe and holly and
giving gifts and even the holiday
ham, and incorperated it into their
own holiday.

The Yule goes back millennia and
was the most important holiday of the
year. It fell near the shortest day of
the year & celebrated birth, the rebirth
of the sun. Xtions picked this holiday
for the a birth holiday also, their own
gods. So what was a mixture of gods
holidays came to be all about Jesus
eventually, with the help of the iron
fist of the Church.

So I celebrate the rebirth of the sun,
the days getting longer, the air getting
warmer eventually. Makes logical sense
to celebrate things that you can see and
feel, instead of fantasies of the imagination
like virgin births.

If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Merry Christmas to the Padre and all others who celebrate in some way. Before visiting family I will likely stop in the nearby casino just to experience the eerie, empty feel. Don't know why I like doing that, but I do.

Merry Xmas to all. Just winding down here now. Currently lying on my couch in a food coma. Are far too much but with another 8 days until I return to work and a buffet of sports coming up the overeating is likely to continue for some time.

On this day a child was born who would change the world by age 30.

Happy Birthday, Isaac Newton!

And we know Newton was a real
