You can. Nothing stops you creating your own virtual currency. It wouldn't validate to the bitcoin system though, so if you sold your virtual coin as a 'bitcoin' it would rapidly be apparent it wasn't a valid coin, and the transfer would be rejected by the buyer. It is said that your life flashes before your eyes just before you die.... it's called Life |
