Word around the campfire is that Jamie has had many patents for his own crypto crushed. True or meme I do not know. Do know though that cryptos are a threat to his livelyhood. They will not replace him, but they do make him less necessary. The President is a fink. |

It is certainly true that JPMorgan Chase has begun a trial project using blockchain to cut the cost and hassle of trading. Blockchain has caught the imagination of the financial services industry within the past year, with a host of companies vowing to find ways to use it to reshape many of their daily operations, from upgrading old back-office systems to automatic execution of contracts. The technology is essentially a digital public database of events that is continuously maintained and verified in “blocks” of records and shared among various parties. This means payment ledgers can be instantly updated in multiple locations without a single, centralised authority. https://www.ft.com/content/2d3f9296-c5ef-11e5-b3b1-7b2481276e45 Copyright The Financial Times Limited 2017. It should be required reading, imo. The last official act of any government is to loot the treasury. GW |

The book is 600 pages! A lot of money goes to money-heaven. Björgólfur Thor Björgólfsson, who lost a billion dollars in the Icelandic crisis. As one of the wealthiest societies in the world a decade ago, it reminds us that central bank money can take just as nasty a turn as crypto currency.
The Icelandic Crown last 50% of it's value in a year. Now that it is more stable and tourism is at an all time high in Iceland, they are thinking of pegging it to the Euro. The largest banknote 10,000 ISK =79.75 EUR. Of course, if it was pegged it would be convenient to make it 100:1, but you could accomplish the same thing by switching the ISK to an electronic currency, and then issue new denominations of ISK that are parity with the Euro. You could simply collect Euro banknotes from the tourists and use them on the island. |

Ethereum is down 40% from two weeks ago. The Market Cap of all 888 crypto coins (besides bitcoin) dropped from nearly $100 billion to $60 billion. |

Now back to just under $4100, and showing some momentum. Jamie's statements might have worn off. Here is the thing, really the strength here is that outsiders and noncomformists are the market. With limited supply, if just a very small percent of the world is in said group, it should stay around. 9 years? Now, IMHO we have too many other tokens popping up out there. They will almost all fail. But like the dotcom boom, the few strong will remain. The President is a fink. |
