It is doomed. It's being propped up by those already heavily invested in it, hoping for a surge so they can sell. Experts say no more surges, people are scared and bored with it. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

An older woman of color, she would always try and pay with a creased and dirty personal check made out to her. And it was 3 years old. I would always tell her who takes two party checks for $100, and it was long expired anyway. No comment from her, no expression on her face. She had tried to unload this bad check somebody had stuck her with countless times. That's Bitcoin. The people are stuck with it, hoping and praying they can unload it on other suckers in the near future. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Pacomartin Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 1068 Posts: 12569 | It looks like BTC was during 4 September $7,263.00 open $7,388.26 high $7,255.44 low $7,361.66 close MIOTA began at roughly 64 cents when it debuted on June 13, 2017 and is now at 59.5753 cents, Sweden has selected MIOTA as the system to back their national crypto currency next year. It does not have the massive electricity expenditure of bitcoin. Instead of "blockchain" it uses a new system called "tangle" http://list.wiki/IOTA_(MIOTA) The governing organization is in Berlin (website doesn't work at this moment) https://www.iota.org/ This might be the best investment for the future |

I don't know who won this contest, but if it was me I would like to contribute to the fund for DT from "passing the hat". |

So now BTC is $3,493 with a market cap of $61 billion. Low drama in Sweden as some people can't get their cellular network on their phones with the public toilets, which no longer accept coins. As of right now, Sweden is still on track to issue a public crypto currency tied in value to the national currency next year. Expectations are for $5-$6 billion in digital currency, to match the current amount of circulating banknotes and coins. The new coins worth roughly €0.10, €0.20 and €0.50 were introduced 1 October 2016 and and weigh 3.6g, 4.8g, and 6.1g and circulation is up to 380 million coins. It is actually kind of surprising as coins are not accepted in most machines. The old coins were too large, but they join and older coin worth roughly €1 which weighs 6.6g and has 212 million in circulation. Sweden's coins are made in Finland and their banknotes are made in Britain. In some sense the decision by South Korea to demonetize all coins is actually more radical than Sweden's moves. |

So 5 months ago it was at $7000 and I was thinking of getting into it it to get paid by Bovado. Tejected that for this very reason. How do think I'm feeling about that decision. How do casinos continue to accept and pay out in a currency that's worth half what it was in July. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Either they do not hold it so they carry no risk or they keep everything denominated in it so the value does not matter. Simple. The President is a fink. |

National currencies can drop quickly as well. Inauguration day is on 1 December in Mexico. Four (6 year) terms ago on 1 December 1994 a new President came in. The pesos dropped from 3.44 pesos to the dollar to 7.58 pesos to the dollar in one year. That is a drop to 45.38% of it's value a year ago. Currently the peso exchange rate is 20.298 to the dollar. |
