GPS spoofing? for Navy mishaps?

Most devices do not test gps signals... they accept the strongest signal they receive so a spoofing transmitter would have to be powerful to spoof a drone but could be weak to spoof a ship if it were very nearby. A lone sailor on a merchant vessel? Would he know of nearby traffic and be off duty at the time? Would he have privacy to store equipment? Just how powerful a battery would be needed to override the proper signals? Is this an absurd notion? |
