This isn't true in the United States. For example, if you want to fly United Airlines, they refuse cash payments at United ticket counters at the following airports: ANC, ATL, AUS, BWI, BOI, BOS, CLT, ORD, CVG, CLE, DFW, DEN, DSM, DTW, ELP, FLL, BDL, HNL, IAH, IND, JAX, MCI, LFT, LAS, LAX, MFE, MEM, MIA, MSP, MSY, EWR, JFK, LGA, OKC, OMA, ONT, MCO, PHL, PHX, PIT, PDX, RNO, SMF, SLC, SAN, SFO, SEA, STL, TPA, IAD. Likewise, American Airlines' website says that they accept cash at some airports, but not every airport. There's an easy way around this, of course: just purchase a prepaid debit card. |

At the check-in counters. How many, if any, of these airports have a ticket office that will take cash?
But that puts you back on the grid, no? Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

Wow. That's a long list of airports. You think it would be easier to list the airports where they accept cash.

Maybe not. But not by much. I was going to say the last time I paid cash for a plane ticket was in 1985 (London-Tel Aviv with El Al), but that's not quite true. In 2010 I rescheduled a paid Interjet ticket from MTY-MEX to MTY-TOL. I was charged a nominal change fee (about $15 US at the time) and credited a bit in fare difference as the new ticket was lower in price (!). I paid that in cash. (alas, this is no longer the change policy for Interjet). In both MTY and TOL, there are service counters which double as ticket offices, well away from the check-in counters. You go there when you have an issue or want to buy a ticket. For all I know, you can't buy a ticket at the check-in counter (I've never tried it). Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

Sure, but you're still off the radar of Transunion, Equifax, & Experian. The clerk at 7-11 or Walgreens won't ask you for your social security number. Incidentally, not too many retailers offer prepaid cards that could cover, say, a $1,200 airline ticket. Most retailers have a $500 limit on prepaid cards. |

So you'd have to fly the ULCCs only? There are still a few bricks and mortar travel agencies left. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

These people are still vulnerable to identity theft, right? They still would be advised to monitor their credit report (if one exists). |
