Wow. Trump is naming James Mattis as defense
secretary. Talk about recent hands on experience
in the Mid East. He was relieved of duty by Obama
in 2013 because he was telling the truth about
Iran. The military will be celebrating this, if they
aren't already.

How about James Mattis?

I always do that, know it's James and say
John. It's a right/left thing. If you tell me to
raise my left hand, my instinct is to raise
my right. If you say tell me your name is
Stewert, I'll remember it as Stephen. It's
a thing, I've researched it.

Rush pointed out today that the
Dems were running on fumes in
this election and nobody was
talking about it. Obama won in
2012, but in 10, 12 and 14, the
rest of the Dem party didn't fare
so well. 16 was the tipping point,
it's shows the party is in shambles,
mostly because of Obama's policies
and lack of leadership. There's
no 'In 2020 we'll get it back' kind
of talk. It's going to take 8 to 12
years to undo the damage Obama
has done to his party. Or longer.

It will not be a repeat of the 2000s, either. Trump will not just sit back like the Bushes and let himself be attacked over and over with no response. We see that already. He does well and a few more states may flip in 2020, though a Nixon/Reagan style 49 state sweep is probably impossible in today's USA.

If this happens, few Democrats will rush at the chance to be cannon fodder, few pols do in a re-election in any case. Hillary could well freeze the field yet again. Reagan is really the only guy in 100 years or so to take down a sitting US POTUS who was elected in without some kind of 3rd party movement interfering (Anderson was not a real factor.) 2012 was perhaps the closest it came when Obama did the most unheard of feat of winning by a lesser margin than he won the first time, yet he still won.

Simple numbers mean Dems will probably pick up some governorships but lose Senate seats in 2018. Figure House Seats are useless to get a candidate from, happened only once and all the Dem House leadership seems too old too crazy left or both. That will not help in 2020. It may in 2024.
The President is a fink.

Rush pointed out today

Always listening to Rush and regurgitating it here.

Old white guy can't turn off old white drug addict's fringe radio show. Sad!

We'll see how long it takes the Democrats to come back. But I'm not gonna take Rushbo's word for it. I highly doubt you were lamenting the death of the Republican party in 2008...

I read the news and figure it out for myself

EB would be so lost without Rush lol

We'll see how long it takes the Democrats to come back.

After the successful, and quick, conclusion of Gulf War I in 1991, the Democratic party was deemed dead because it had largely voted against the war. On November 1992, Bill Clinton was elected president.

In 1994 when the GOP swept the midterms, the Democratic party was again deemed dead. In 96 Bill Clinton was re-elected.

In 2005 when Howard Dean was made DNC chief, the Democratic party was deemed dead again. In 2006 the Democrats swept the midterms and in 2008 Obama was elected president.

Three out of three is quite a record.

Oh, oh you just confirmed EB's claims about voter fraud, or are they the Dems claims now I am getting confused on that. The dead are getting elected ;-)
