Domestic Box Office on 10th day Iron Man $177,825,024 / 10 Doctor Strange $153,014,169 / 10 Thor $119,455,352 / 10 Captain America $117,421,571 / 10 Ant-Man $106,219,861 / 10 The Incredible Hulk $97,055,430 / 10 Only "The Hulk" out of all 14 movies seems to have had a mediocre performance earning Domestic: $134,806,913+ Foreign: $128,620,638 on a $150 million budget. Studios reeling from big budget money losers like the films below must be so jealous. I predict it will be their biggest hit behind only the two Avengers movies. Might even do better than the 2nd Avengers did. “A straight man will not go for kids.” - AZDuffman |

Prior to its release, Guardians of the Galaxy was an unknown property. Did your average movie goer know who the Guardians were? No. Now they do. It's gonna be a huge hit (assuming it's as good or nearly as good as the 1st - which I suspect it will be). “A straight man will not go for kids.” - AZDuffman |

Long experience has me completely unexcited with new Trek movies. Usually the TV shows are much, much better. Not every episode, but a great many of them. So a movie can be fun, but it likely won't be as good as the better TV eps. Perhaps Trek ][ and the last TNG movie, "First Contact" (YES! It's the last!) come close to eps like "The City on the Edge of Forever," "The Best of Both Worlds," "Whispers," "Parallels," "The Year of Hell," "Mirror, Mirror," and others. Some are DS9 and even Voyager eps. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

I didn't say GoG #2 would fail. I'm just saying that doubling the box office of the first one is a very tall order. You are talking about doubling if you think it will go head to head with the Avengers movies. The following sequels exceeded their original by the following amount (worldwide). 7% Iron Man 2 43% Thor: The Dark World 93% Captain America: The Winter Soldier 18% Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Now Captain America nearly doubled, but the first one was a relatively modest hit. |

I'd say it'll end up in the Iron Man 3 range. I thought the 2nd Avengers movie had a more significant Box Office drop off from the first one than it did... “A straight man will not go for kids.” - AZDuffman |

The four billion dollar MCU films all contained Robert Downey Junior's Iron Man. Christopher Pratt (age 37) has made a pretty spectacular rise in films in just a few years. (Worldwide boxoffice)
