Prediction for you winter Face is colder than normal and the lakes are currently warmer than normal. That is the recipe for major lake effect snow. Have fun this winter. "but if you make yourselves sheep, the wolves will eat you." Benjamin Franklin |

Right around Thanksgiving starts the Face holiday called delivering mail for the holidays. We all remember how much he loved it last year. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

I'm thinking mailmen don't thank Jesus much. Or they feel like that Job guy. You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really? |

As long as we stay over 10 (-12 Canadian) I'll be fine. And if we stay over 10 (feet of snow) I'll be in shadenfreude heaven.
It's the very day after. I'm ready for it. I'm developing into a real agent of chaos, should be fun =)
I curse His name every day of my life. And if He even thinks of making me live to 140, there's gonna be a hell of a row in the after. I wouldn't be able to retire until 105! I'd turn Heaven into f#$%ing Detroit, you just wait. But if we're talking fables, there is none more perfect than Sisyphus. Imagine me happy. Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it. |

Evenbob Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 146 Posts: 25011 | Worst Spring in MI is decades. It's middle of Ap and temps have been 30 degrees below normal for weeks. Ice storm today and a foot of snow at the Mackinaw Bridge. Avg high today is 60. In two weeks the leaves will start coming on the tree's. Some are saying there's a way better chance of a mini Iceage like they had in EU 400 years ago. Shortened growing seasons, cold in the summer. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

That heat seems to bring with it dust storms, that really disturb peoples breathing with pollen and a disease that resembles "Legionnaires" called "Valley fever". Pretty common when people get it in their lungs to have that part of the lung removed. Wifes aunt lost half a lung to it. The last official act of any government is to loot the treasury. GW |

Cold is far more likely to happen than heat: Any of several dates ranging over 400 years may indicate the beginning of the Little Ice Age: 1250 for when Atlantic pack ice began to grow; cold period possibly triggered or enhanced by the massive eruption of Samalas volcano in 1257[17] 1275 to 1300 based on the radiocarbon dating of plants killed by glaciation 1300 for when warm summers stopped being dependable in Northern Europe 1315 for the rains and Great Famine of 1315–17 1550 for theorized beginning of worldwide glacial expansion 1650 for the first climatic minimum. ..tells of the plight of European peasants during the 1300 to 1850 chill: famines, hypothermia, bread riots and the rise of despotic leaders brutalizing an increasingly dispirited peasantry. In the late 17th century, agriculture had dropped off dramatically: "Alpine villagers lived on bread made from ground nutshells mixed with barley and oat flour." Historian Wolfgang Behringer has linked intensive witch-hunting episodes in Europe to agricultural failures during the Little Ice Age If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

odiousgambit Member since: Oct 28, 2012 Threads: 154 Posts: 5098 | We live in an era marked by recurring ice ages and there is no indication that has waned. Oh, we might be temporarily experiencing a greenhouse effect due to so much burning of fossil fuels. Just remember "they" were predicting we were running out of oil in the 70's. Sooner or later we really will. btw there are many things about ice ages that are not well understood. In particular, it is not clear where all the moisture comes from in the middle of continents. Cold tends to rob the air of moisture. I'm Still Standing, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah [it's an old guy chant for me] |
