Yeah, last thing you want to do is drive into a remote area before downloading a map.

Even a downloaded map can be scary
Sometimes like to go back roads instead highways
See more of the area, more stopping opportunities
So I go on Google maps and click on "no highways"
Most of times routes are great
Sometimes includes dirt roads. I turn around and go hwy unless it's a short dirt road connecting to pavement
Sometimes "no highway" directions will try to take you through a military base.
They asked what my business was
I showed Google maps
No entry, said I had to use the highway
