Congratulations to miplet for a quick win in game 8. I'm still in a Clue-playing mood, so who else is up for game 9? Multiple votes allowed in the poll.

I think I am ready for the constant 7 character/8 weapon/9 room version as soon as it can be readied. [But I would play anyway]

Clearly the easier version is allowing wizards and such to get lucky*. Which raises another question, is my theory wrong, that the first to answer in Clue is at a disadvantage? The guessers are doing just fine!

*expect such banter from me after a loss, no worries, no real insults intended, and, no, I am not serious

Have we had a wrong guess yet? I can't remember. Games 1 and 5 (both won by me) were made without guessing, although game 5 was just an educated suggestion first. Will adding 3 cards make a difference? Each player will still get 3 cards. If we had 4 cards, then it might be different.

I will be defending my title in game 9.

Yes, I elim'ed myself in an early game with a wrong guess; think it was game 1, and I had the room wrong.

I will play another.

I think if we are only 4 again (as indicated by the poll) it might be good to split up the two dummy accounts. There is extra info from them because of the set order, in that if they show you a weapon, you know they don't hold the character, and if they show you a room, you know they don't have either. But I don't know that Scarlet particularly benefited from that (winner) because none of his guesses was disproved by either dummy. So there may be nothing to my thinking it matters.

I believe others have said they were having to choose between not-known-for-sure somethings, while of course having most of it.

Taking it to an extreme, if there were around 20 characters and weapons, even if worked out where each character has only 3 cards, it's got to be harder. I'm not sure of the way it would act itself out. So it would seem to be the case that 3 more will make it harder.

well, assuming I'm not 'fired' from the job, I'll assign characters again ... seems unlikely more will play unless someone does some recruiting

I think with 4 we'll do scarlet, white, peacock, and plum... mustard and green to be dummies

or what do you think?

Wizard will be scarlet
Miplet will be white
BBB will be peacock
OG will be plum

as a special enticement to someone else entering late, which everyone would like, Mustard is available and will be a better position to all but the Wizard [and Mr. Green is open too]
