In good old fashioned Golden Age of SF(*) style, you design a 3D printer that can churn out "smart" interceptor drones. These can identify and kill the bad drones. Plug in, sit back, while drone after drone take to the skies armed with cute, little sidewinder replicas, and watch the mechanical carnage unfold :) (*) In many stories during this era, it was common for a crucial new discovery to be made one day, and have mass-produced technology based on it the next day.
