I'm squinting, watering, looking away a lot. Coming here is like such a relief. I hope they fix it or I can't be going there much, and I'm sure I'm not alone. If you take a risk, you may lose. So long may people screw up their cut overs to new versions of things and do it badly, learn and hire UI and QA specialists like me to help them out. To use when you're signed in on a personal dashboard. Although maybe I should ask for a "panic button" in the corner, so if it is unreadable after a personal change you can change it back to default if you have to. Did you try turning off the monitor? But that is kind of self-defeating. Maybe you could try dialing the brightness down. I know it's the website, not the screen, but if it helps... Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

It would be a pain in the butt to adjust the monitor everytime I went to WOV. My laptop is 8 years old and normally the screen is duller than I like for my old eyes. "but if you make yourselves sheep, the wolves will eat you." Benjamin Franklin |

No argument from me. The only solution for extremely bad design choices is to junk the product and redo it. See Windows 8(.1). But if, in the interim, you need to use the product anyway, the temporary fix might be inconvenient even when it does work. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

Evenbob Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 146 Posts: 25013 | You know why Drudge is still the number one site for it's topic? In 20 years Matt Drudge has not once changed the format. He says doing that costs you 10-15% of your traffic, people will go elsewhere rather than learn a whole new way to operate the site. Now, they log in and are so familiar with it, they glance and leave to do the same later. Taking that away from WoV can only hurt it. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

He knows what he is doing. I do tend to think one of my failures was as revenue was dropping everybody was telling me I needed to modernize the site. Doing so was very expensive and revenue only dropped. You can be sure that the look of this site won't change. It has yet to make penny one so I'm in no mood to invest money into it anyway.
