I just paid more than $5 for a carton of 18 grade AA eggs.. at a Costco.

What's going on in the world to make these little things so precious?

Some places are even having rationing. Maybe I should have done chickens instead of bees first.

Yeah, they had to kill millions of chickens to contain the problem. All poultry prices are up sharply.

That is a bargain price in Alaska where five dollars a dozen is standard.

A total of 43 million birds and counting. Record numbers (almost triple previous worst bird flu outbreak). Even if birds aren't being killed in your area, the nationwide prices are affected.
