Mom Teresa bothered me for years before
she died. A lot of people thought she was
a total fraud. She raised millions for he cause
and put almost none of towards making the
lives of the suffering better. Those who knew her
said she loved suffering, she thought it made
people more spiritual. Say what??

Here's a video by Penn and Teller on the subject,
and a couple others. It's irreverent, but makes the
point. They mention the miracle she supposedly
performed. I thought it was that she dropped a
slice of buttered toast and it hit the ground butter
side up and somebody cried 'what a miracle'.

Here's a scathing article from the Washington Post,
one of many.

It's only a miracle if the dog doesn't get to it first.
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

That would trump the "five second rule" at our house

I am very leery of trusting any venerated
religious figure. Look how her story has
been veered completely away from the
truth by the Church. You can only imagine
what tales they spun about other 'saints'
when there was no free press to oppose
them. But oh no, not single false story
was spread about Jesus in the 300 YEARS
before the Church was founded. Everything
said about him was gospel truth.

It's such a crock. The tales of Teresa are
in the modern day, with people who knew
her saying it's baloney. They had decades
to cook up anything they wanted about
Jesus, and cook they did. People believe
the NT because they want and need to,
not because it's true.

Make the poor keep suffering but wash them as they are dying and do it for the cameras so you can raise more funds to "help the poor" .... well, if you get good press you get good donations. Vatican bank? Ain't that the one with two recent suicides?

Dali Llama wants religious freedom.... freedom for his religion and his cronies.

Catholic Church is suffering bad press right now so they may need to change a few rules now and then. When there are fewer news stories about little kids and missing millions of dollars the church will go back to its old ways.
