He wasn't that high up in the company. Really, he was perhaps level 3 in the organization, an office manager of a team of about 20 people. I have seen and worked with doofuses like him all over corporate America in positions higher up than him. He was I that position due to seniority and his ability to sell paper, not because of his personality.

Diversity Day was brilliant. I never placed it as Episode #2 until now.

I never heard this routine. It's the routine that Steve Carrel was reciting that caused Diversity Day.

I both knew one and kind of was one. The one I knew was a known jackass. Would waste a ton of time then tell you that you needed to work late. One guy went nuts when he wanted him to work late during the best Steeler playoff game in 15 years at the time. He told me we "weren't getting out at noon" on a Saturday, the normal time. I gave a look and he asked if I had plans. He let me go. But most of us thought he hated going home.

As to me, I can say managing a place like Dunder-Mifflin is kind of like being a fireman. If it is working right then you have all the time Scott had for his antics. You really are there to hire people, put out fires, and come up with a few ideas a year. Day to day is incredibly dull.

Lived the life, except no hottie Jan Levinson as my boss.......
