The affair was important to the story line. It set up sympathy for Walt and gave a reason for Skylar to steal Walt's money, also just show how messed up his life had become.

As to they fly, I hated it. But it is one of those kinds of episodes most shows seem to eventually have.

It went on and on and on. It could
have been covered in 1/4 the time they
spent on it. They did the same
thing on X Files. The core story
was UFO's and Mulder's sister.
I saw an interview once where
Ducovney said it infuriated fans
when they would ignore the core
story for half a season and make
us watch some drivel about a
mothman or whatever. It was the
same with BB, all we cared about
was the core story, not the fluff
surrounding it.

Put me in the camp that Better Call Saul is outstanding and on par with Breaking Bad.

I do have a question, though. When Jimmy had Mike pretend be a contractor to fix the damage from the break-in, I thought it was to steal the other tape. However, it got played in court. What was the whole point of Mike's break-in then?

The ex wife's address. Last episode was right
up there with Skyler's sister shoplifting at
open houses. All that boring crap just to
show the brother is a nut job. Like we
haven't known all along it's all in his
head. We also know Jimmy never gets
disbarred because he shows up with
a name change in the same town with
the same law people. If he got disbarred
he couldn't do that, they all know who
he is. So the episode was a waste of time.

I only watch for Mike and Gus and the
cartel people, the rest is boring filler.
There's a 90% chance Walter White
and Jesse Pinkman will be showing
up in cameos this or next season. They
could even be worked into the show.
We'll see.

On par and they are not trying to make it "Breaking Bad 2." Different kind of story. But enough of Mike to keep it interesting. I have to wonder if it eventually bangs into BB story line and ends with Saul arriving in Omaha.

I also wonder how many phone calls Cinabon there gets asking for Saul. If not for caller ID I would call!

I agree 100%. I speculate that BSS will end when the timeline catches up to Breaking Bad. It could overlap a little as Saul didn't enter BB until half way through the show.

Then, I envision a third show that centers around Saul's new life in Omaha.

He took pictures of Chuck's house/living situation which Jimmy sent to Chuck's ex wife to get her to come to the hearing.

Maybe, but still need an "end." I would not mind seeing "Saul's side" of BB. No need to draw out things, remember BB was a 2 year time line, Saul like 18 months of that or so. ]

If I want to watch a meaningless life I can pay attention to my own......

I would rather see Mike as a cop in Philly, but Banks is way to old. TRIVIA: What old show did Mike play a cop of sorts?

I like the show but find the Jimmy parts
very boring. I'm there to see Mike and
Gus and the cartel. Saul was never a
huge character on BB, he was in the
background. I really don't care how he
got to be Saul Goodman, and neither
does most of the audience. Odenkirk
is constantly bombarded by fans who
want to know who from BB will be on
the show. It makes him angry, but it
shouldn't. Jimmy is boring as hell.
