It would seem that there were people in Lebanon calling for Miss Lebanon to be stripped of her title for consorting with the enemy.  |

It was a very Western democracy with Arab owned sex clubs and allegations of drugging British and American women to sign contracts. But I thought it pretty much was destroyed by shelling and tank invasions and didn't even know it still existed. I thought all the "Lebs" had moved to Australia and bought fancy nightclubs? |

In the 1980's one of my student's father was a former ambassador from Lebanon. It was the only time in my life that I was ever in a 5th avenue apartment across from the The Metropolitan Museum of Art. |
